15 weeks

Baby's now the size of a naval orange!
Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby's legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can't feel the movements just yet.

I wish the naval orange would let me enjoy hamburgers and chicken. We eat a lot of chicken in our house and if you can't keep it down, it's pretty hard!

Still have a few days off before I start my new job. I wonder if I blogged about that.
I resigned from Cochlear in the beginning of October to take a clinical audiology job so that I can be home every night. And, a 4 day work week. That's the best part! I have had a couple of weeks off in between jobs as well, that has also been nice. I haven't done anything exciting, but that's okay, it's nice to just hang out.

I have to post pictures from our NC trip, but that will have to come later.

Week 14 and vacation

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

I am officially on vacation until 11/1 when I start my new job at an ENT clinic in Vero Beach. I resigned from my job because I wanted a more normal job where I could be home every night and see my daughter and husband every day. :)

It's week 13!

Baby's now the size of a peach!

Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords...savor this, their nonfunctional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with his head now only one third the size of his body. And intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy -- much more convenient.

Week 12

Baby's now the size of a plum!
As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of her systems are fully formed.

12 week doctor appointment today....ready to not be nauseous anymore!

Lime

Baby's now the size of a lime!
Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through it. But fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds, and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.

10 weeks, 1 day

According to the what to expect websites, the baby is the size of a prune. How cute! Here's some other information:

Your baby's growth is fast and furious now. He or she is nearly an inch and a half long and the size of a prune, but not nearly as shriveled (even with all the time it spends in water). In fact, your baby is really taking a human shape now. Bones and cartilage are forming, and small indentations on the legs are developing into knees and ankles. The arms (complete with elbows) can flex already, but don't run to the store for a baseball bat just yet. Though your baby's arms are taking shape and getting stronger, each one is only about the size of this number 1.

The tooth bud fairy is making her appearance this week, heralding the arrival of your baby's little choppers, which are forming under the gums. (Those pearly whites won't break through the gums until your baby is close to six months old). Other systems are go, too. Your baby's stomach is producing digestive juices, the kidneys are producing larger quantities of urine, and, if your baby's a boy, he's already producing testosterone (yikes!).

30 more weeks to go!

Brooke our little doggie.

Brooke figured out the doggie door last night. I was ready with the camera luckily.

She sees the dogs go out all the time and I have been waiting for her to crawl out!

So, here we go:

And, here's a picture looking all cute going to school today:

And, here are some pictures from Gymboree:

I am officially the worst blogger!

But, who has time to write so much on here...not me!

Let's see...all I really want to say is that Brooke is finally saying MOM! It's more "ma'am" but I like it and she uses it almost appropriately. :)

She's inching up on 13 months old.

Been in baby school for about 3 weeks. It's going well, she seems to like it, I hate to leave her there, but I have to.

Will try to get some pictures up soon as well as a video of "ma'am."

Oh, and since baby school started, she goes to bed at 8 p.m. She is so tired from playing with her friends all day. Tonight, she went to bed at 7:45 p.m.

And, another oh, I love her more and more every day!

Perfect hips

Can this kid be any cuter?

And, with perfect hips, we couldn't ask for more!

The orthopedist was very pleased with her walking and did a follow up x ray which Brooke was not too fond of, but it was worth it, because we are finished with follow ups for her "subluxable" hips! Yea for the harness!

Tomorrow

We go back for a follow up with the orthopedist. The doctor wanted to see her when she was walking, so I gave it a month for her to become a "good" walker.

Let's hope that the harness did exactly what it was supposed to do!

Guess who is walking!

Brooke! I would post video if I could (I have tried the YouTube way and it didn't work for me).

I will try to get it later on this week!

Welcome to the World, Baby Caudill

Meredith and Ryan's baby entered this world early this morning.

Ryleigh Elizabeth Caudill.

She was born today at 12:37 am. 9 lbs, 1 oz. I forget how long, 21 inches maybe?

And, she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Fun Filled Weekend

This past weekend, we attended a wedding of a friend. Had a blast, Chris had a little too much fun. Ask him about it.

Here are some pics of the wedding. Brooke did not attend.

Crawling and almost walking

Brooke finally started crawling last week, Wednesday to be exact. I had a meeting for work over on Marco Island and since Chris had two weeks off before his new job, he and Brooke came with me. It's a good thing because if they hadn't come, I would have missed this developmental milestone. I have some video of the crawling, but have never uploaded a video so that might be awhile. She also has been pushing her little toy stroller all over and thinks about letting go, but then gets scared, so she is close to walking on her own.

So glad she started crawling and we don't have to visit a PT for therapy! She has also pulled herself to standing, just once, but she did it!

What a big girl she is! And, adorable, of course! Will post pics later on.

She's only nine months old...

....and she is already trying to steal out of my purse.

Too Cute!

And, I bought a new camera cord on-line...

I kept visiting the local store, but their shipment never arrived and I just needed to get some pictures uploaded.

So, I have some great pictures, but one of my favorites, I took today. It is awesome. Not sure if I will post it tonight.

We just got our pool fence installed, so now I feel very safe with having a little one and a pool.

Oh, and the best news we have received in a long time....Chris got a full time GOOD job! He will be doing marketing for a skilled nursing facility here in Melbourne. He starts on 5/26 and has a couple of weeks off until then. Lucky guy! Next week, he and Brooke are coming with me to Marco Island. I have to be there for the state speech and hearing meeting, and he and Brooke will spend the weekend with me! Yea!

So, now we need to have a party, a kid friendly party since we have pool safety!

And, I have spent about 1 hour or more uploading pictures, so it better not give me any errors tonight!
